Workroom Automation has secured ₹6.2 crore in seed funding led by Equirus InnovateX Fund to develop an operating system for global manufacturing. The company addresses the challenge of fragmented manufacturing systems by creating a central intelligence layer that connects and contextualizes data across factories. Unlike traditional Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) or siloed Industry 4.0 tools that primarily function as systems of record, Workroom is designed as a system of intelligent execution, driving real-time orchestration across manufacturing operations.
Founded in 2022 by Abhinav Atthota (CEO) and Rohan Agarwal (CTO) in Hyderabad, Workroom Automation provides a connected factory platform that enables manufacturers to plan, run, and automate factory operations on a single unified system. The platform integrates with existing ERP systems, MES, machines, and shopfloor workflows, creating a comprehensive view of manufacturing operations. This approach allows medium and large manufacturing enterprises to make real-time decisions and respond quickly to shopfloor disruptions, which is critical in today’s fast-paced manufacturing environment.
The funding will accelerate Workroom’s AI-driven production planning and orchestration capabilities, scale enterprise deployments, and support the shift towards more autonomous factory operations. With a strong focus on discrete industries such as automotive, electronics, aerospace, and industrial machinery, Workroom aims to become the central operating system for manufacturing worldwide. Their platform represents a significant advancement in Industry 4.0 technologies, moving beyond simple data collection and visibility to intelligent automation and decision-making at scale.
