FFXIV Beastmaster Finally Arrives, Alongside Major QoL Improvements in Patch 7.5!

After two long years of anticipation, Final Fantasy XIV players finally have concrete details about the upcoming Beastmaster job! Producer Naoki Yoshida dropped some bombshell announcements during the latest Live Letter, revealing that this monster-taming job will be a limited experience similar to Blue Mage. While this means you won’t be able to queue for regular duties as a Beastmaster, it opens up a whole world of side-activities for those looking to take a break from relic weapon grinds. The job will launch at level 1 and requires players to be at least level 50 with completed ARR main scenario content to unlock it.

Patch 7.5 is shaping up to be a quality-of-life paradise for long-time players tired of inventory management struggles. One of the most anticipated features is the ability to store Artifact and dungeon gear in your armoire, starting with Dawntrail dungeon gear and expanding to previous expansions over time. For homeowners, increased item caps for both indoor and outdoor decorations will allow for more elaborate housing setups. Additionally, players can now prioritize displaying their own items over nearby players, which should help with performance in crowded housing areas. Duty support is also being extended to Heavensward’s Dusk Vigil and Stormblood’s Shisui of the Violet Tied dungeons.

The Beastmaster gameplay itself sounds incredibly engaging, allowing players to weaken monsters in combat before capturing them. Once tamed, up to three beast companions can be summoned into battle for assistance, with an initial bestiary of 50 monsters at launch. The level cap starts at 50, and Yoshida teased a single-player “nurture” mode called Crucible of the Unbroken where players can develop their beast friends further. Beyond the Beastmaster, patch 7.5 will also bring a new instanced dungeon (Clyteum), additional fishing routes, the conclusion of Hildebrand and Vana’diel Alliance Raid storylines, PvP Series 11, a new Crystalline Conflict arena, and a trial featuring Enuo from Final Fantasy 5. Get ready for an action-packed update when 7.5 drops on April 28!
