Crimson Desert Patch 1.07.00 Brings Boss Rematches and Unarmed Combat Skills to Pywel
Pearl Abyss has rolled out Crimson Desert version 1.07.00 across all platforms, delivering another substantial update to the open-world action-adventure title just days after the 1.06.00 patch. The update, which went live on May 15, 2026, adds new boss rematch opportunities, fresh unarmed combat skills, expanded mount options, and a wide range of bug fixes.
The Update
Hot on the heels of the 1.06.00 patch that introduced the Extraction feature and special mounts, version 1.07.00 focuses on expanding endgame replayability and giving players more combat depth. The update is now available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC (Steam and Epic Games Store), and macOS (Steam), with the Mac App Store version arriving at a later date.
New Additions
Boss Rematches
The headline feature of 1.07.00 is the addition of more bosses available for rematches. While Pearl Abyss has kept the full list under wraps to avoid spoilers, this expansion gives players who have already cleared the campaign a reason to revisit Pywel’s most challenging encounters. For a game that RPG Site’s review described as offering “exhilarating” boss fights, the ability to refight these battles with upgraded gear and refined strategies is a welcome addition for endgame-focused players.
Unarmed Combat Skills
The update introduces a major new dimension to combat with unarmed combat skills for Damiane. Players can now find these new abilities by selecting “Fists” in the skill menu, effectively opening up an entirely new playstyle for one of the game’s key characters.
Kliff also gets in on the action with a “Blinding Flash Finisher” for unarmed combat, while both Damiane and Oongka receive a new “Aerial Stab” move, adding verticality and combo potential to their arsenals.
New Mounts
Pearl Abyss has continued expanding Crimson Desert’s open-world traversal options by adding additional wolf and bear types that can be registered as mounts. The update also introduces reins for certain mount types, giving players more control and customization over their animal companions. This follows the 1.06.00 patch which introduced the entire special mount system, allowing players to tame everything from bears and wolves to kuku birds and iguanas.
Bug Fixes and Improvements
As with any substantial patch, 1.07.00 addresses a lengthy list of issues:
- Quest fixes: The “Faces on the Bounty Notice” quest can no longer be soft-locked, and the “Check the honey quality at the Pollengarth Apiary” objective in “Ugmon’s Request” is now completable. “Protectors of the Abyss” and “Plentiful Greeting” quest progression issues have also been resolved.
- Combat improvements: Oongka’s “Explosive Strike” now has a proper charge phase, dual-wielding chaining into “Stab” has been improved, and most unarmed attacks can now successfully hit enemies lying on the ground.
- Visual fixes: The “Elegant Carmine Leather Armor” on Damiane displayed abnormally — now fixed. Visual effects for “Champion’s Plate Gloves” have been improved.
- Mount fixes: Legendary mounts can now be summoned correctly when switching to Kliff in certain situations, floppy-eared bulldogs can equip the “Sigil of Valor,” and the A.T.A.G. can no longer disappear from its hangar.
- General: The “Eastern Witch’s Fan” no longer disappears when extracted, Kuku Bird eggs stay in their nests, and various NPCs at the Saltroad Trading Post appear correctly.
J-Hub’s Take
The pace of Crimson Desert’s post-launch updates has been impressive. Pearl Abyss shipped the Extraction feature and special mount system in 1.06.00 on May 11, and now just four days later, 1.07.00 arrives with significant combat additions and boss rematch content. This cadence suggests the developer is actively listening to player feedback and maintaining a healthy development pipeline.
What’s particularly interesting is the focus on unarmed combat. Adding a full fist-fighting skill tree for Damiane, an Aerial Stab for both Damiane and Oongka, and a Blinding Flash Finisher for Kliff signals that Pearl Abyss wants to offer players legitimate alternatives to weapon-based builds. For an action RPG that already draws comparisons to the fluid combat of games like Dragon’s Dogma 2 and the older God of War titles, this depth of combat customization can only be a good thing.
The boss rematch addition also addresses one of the more common criticisms of open-world action RPGs — once you’ve beaten a memorable boss, there’s often no way to experience that fight again without starting a New Game Plus run. Having a dedicated rematch system extends the game’s longevity and gives players more reasons to keep refining their builds.
What’s Next
Crimson Desert is clearly in an active post-launch phase, with two major updates in under a week. While Pearl Abyss hasn’t announced what 1.08.00 will bring, the pattern suggests we can expect continued support through the summer. Players who want to dive into the new content can update their game now across all platforms, with the Mac App Store patch arriving in the coming days.
