Granblue Fantasy Relink: Endless Ragnarok Pre-Orders Go Live, Fraux and Fediel Join the Roster

Pre-orders for Granblue Fantasy: Relink — Endless Ragnarok went live on May 14 across PlayStation Store and Nintendo eShop, bringing with it two final character reveals and a flurry of new details about Cygames’ massive expansion for one of 2024’s most celebrated action JRPGs. The expansion launches on July 9, 2026 for Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Steam.

The Announcement

Cygames revealed the Endless Ragnarok expansion earlier this year during a February 2026 Nintendo Direct, and has been steadily rolling out character trailers and feature reveals ever since. With pre-orders now open and the full character roster confirmed, the picture of what this expansion offers has finally come into focus.

For existing Relink owners, the expansion is available as a Standard Upgrade Kit ($29.99) or a Special Upgrade Kit ($54.99) with additional DLC. New players can pick up the complete package — base game plus expansion — physically on Switch 2 and PS5 for $59.99, or digitally across all platforms at the same price. A Digital Special Bundle at $79.99 includes extra goodies like the Concept Art Color Pack and useful upgrade items.

New Characters: Fraux and Fediel

The final two playable characters revealed are Fraux and Fediel, both drawn from the original Granblue Fantasy mobile game’s extensive lore.

Fraux (voiced by Azumi Asakura / Kelly Baskin) is the Pactbearer to The Devil — a primal being seeking to forge a new world order. Despite this ominous connection, Fraux is described as an ordinary skydweller whose heart is filled with love and compassion. Her combat style revolves around “Striking Strength,” likely offering a balanced melee approach.

Fediel (voiced by Asami Tano / Savy Des-Etages) is the embodiment of “Darkness Personified.” As one of the Six Dragons in Granblue mythology, Fediel brings immense power and a darker aesthetic to the roster. Her playstyle is expected to lean into shadow magic and heavy-hitting abilities befitting a draconic entity.

With these two additions, the Endless Ragnarok expansion introduces six new playable characters total, joining the previously announced Beatrix (revealed March 10), Eustace (March 27), and the duo of Maglielle and Gallanza (May 8). Combined with the base game’s cast, the total roster now stands at an impressive 29 characters, each with their own unique combat mechanics and playstyles.

A New Story Unfolds

Endless Ragnarok picks up after the events of the base game, where the crew of the Grandcypher faced off against the machinations of the Astral Lilith. Now, strange beings called the Ragnalia begin appearing across the Zegagrande Skydom, heralding what appears to be the end of the Sky Realm itself. Mysterious gateways lure challengers into realms of chaos, and the mighty Beelzebub — with his massive steel wings — descends upon the world.

The story expansion promises new narrative chapters that build on the established Granblue lore, with all the main cast returning alongside the new characters. For fans of the original mobile game, the inclusion of Fraux and Fediel — both significant figures in the gacha narrative — suggests the expansion may draw from deep lore threads that long-time players will appreciate.

New Features and Gameplay

Beyond the story and characters, Endless Ragnarok introduces several gameplay additions:

  • New Boss: “The World” — a formidable new adversary that will test even the most experienced parties
  • Summon System Expansion — new summons to complement the expanded roster
  • Co-op Quest Updates — new quest types and difficulty levels for both casual and hardcore players
  • Assist Mode — returning feature for players who want to focus on the story

Pre-ordering the expansion nets the Supplementary Damage V & War Elemental Sigil Set, a bundle of rare sigils that will give early adopters a head start. The Special Edition also includes the Endless Ragnarok Special Pack with exclusive character colors for the Captain, Id, and Sandalphon, alongside useful items for unlocking additional characters.

Cross-Promotion with Granblue Fantasy

Purchasers of Endless Ragnarok — regardless of platform — will receive bonus items for use in the mobile, browser, or Steam version of Granblue Fantasy. Details on the specific rewards and redemption process are still forthcoming, but this cross-ecosystem bonus is a nice touch for players invested in both the action RPG and the original gacha game.

J-Hub’s Take

Granblue Fantasy: Relink was already a standout title when it launched in early 2024 — a high-budget action RPG that finally brought Cygames’ flagship mobile IP to console and PC with genuine AAA polish. Its combat system, which blended PlatinumGames-style action with party-based co-op mechanics, earned it a dedicated player base and over 2 million copies sold worldwide.

Endless Ragnarok represents a substantial investment in the game’s long-term future, and Cygames’ approach is notably generous. Rather than splitting the community with a full-price sequel, the expansion model — with a $29.99 Upgrade Kit for existing owners — respects the time and money players have already invested. The addition of six new characters, a full new story arc, and expanded co-op content positions this as a major content drop rather than a simple DLC pack.

The Switch 2 release is also strategic. Relink was notably absent from the original Switch due to hardware limitations, so bringing the complete experience — base game plus expansion — to Nintendo’s next-gen console opens up an entirely new audience. For players who missed Relink the first time around, the $59.99 bundle on Switch 2 is an especially attractive entry point.

With pre-orders now live and the open beta having wrapped up successfully in late April, the stage is set for a smooth July launch. Whether you’re a returning skyfarer or a newcomer curious about what all the fuss is about, Endless Ragnarok is shaping up to be one of the biggest JRPG releases of the summer.

What to Watch For

With just under two months until launch, expect more gameplay trailers and potentially a post-beta developer update addressing feedback from the April test. Steam pre-orders are also expected to go live soon, following the console pre-order rollout.
